17 arrested for drugs in western Illinois, three on federal charges

The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 17 individuals in a federal drug investigation, three of which were federally charged.

According to a news release, “Levi J. Sloan, 23, of Bushnell, Donald E. Graham, 48, of Bushnell, and James A. Newman, of Dallas City were indicted in the United States District Court Central District of Illinois at Rock Island for distributing methamphetamine throughout several counties in West Central Illinois.”

Authorities say the investigation has been ongoing for six weeks and has covered several western Illinois counties, as well as Burlington in Des Moines County, Iowa.

The sheriff’s office says Heather M. Gillette-Oyler, 34, of Bushnell and Mamie K. Wojtkiewicz, 30, of Bushnell are still wanted.
