Updated Thursday, Aug  30, 2018 at 7:50 a.m.

A line of storms, many of which were strong to severe, ripped through the Tri-State area Tuesday evening.

Photos sent to us by NEWS3 Production Assistant Felicia Selmon show how fast the storms, bringing high winds and heavy rains, tore through the area.

Industry, Illinois in southern McDonough County had significant damage to trees, blocking streets in town.

“Some streets were blocked due to trees being knocked down. Lightning hit a tree, and split it in half,” Selmon said.

Heavy rains continued to fall Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
