WIU’s University Technology Department sends out phishing scam test

On March 21, 2017 Western Illinois University’s Technology Department have sent out an email  of a simulated phishing scam to the entire campus community to raise awareness on how to identify and report it when it is seen in a person’s inbox.

Phishing scams are attempts by scammers to trick people into giving the scammers their personal information.

Signs which show the email is a scam are threats, incorrect links, bad grammar, poor spelling and spoofs of known websites or companies.

When receiving a phishing scam, it should be deleted immediately.
