Dance Marathon has given children an opportunity to be a part of their year-long fundraiser at the first Dance Marathon Kids Clinic at Western Illinois University
The Vice President of Finance Aaron Terrile said the kids clinic was their first big event to really connect with the community as a whole.
“In our first three years here we struggled really hard connecting with the community,” Terrile said. “We thought what better way to get the community’s children involved.”
The children who participated learned a variety of dance moves and were able to show them off at the WIU basketball game.
A parent of a participant, Ashley Katz, said, “I think it was a great opportunity for the community to become involved with such a great cause and for the kids to learn a bit about dance marathon.”
Terrile said the event raised more than $400 and it will go towards the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
