Elson Accepts Defensive Coordinator Position at Ball State

MACOMB, Ill.- Defensive Coordinator David Elson is leaving Western Illinois for the same position at Ball State in Muncie, Indiana. Elson was in charge of Leatherneck football’s defense for one year. He is an Indianapolis native.

Elson was the head coach at Western Kentucky from 2003-09 before taking assistant coaching jobs at Indiana, New Mexico State, Southern Illinois and ultimately WIU.

Western Illinois head football coach Charlie Fisher is now seeking a new defensive coordinator, and it will be the Leathernecks fourth defensive coordinator in as many seasons.
