WIU President Addresses Continuing State Budget Crisis

Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas sent a campus wide email yesterday with details on the state budget allotment.

According to Thomas the university was given $8.4 million by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

Thomas goes on to say that the funds are much appreciated “but continued support is crucial to ensure that WIU can continue to provide affordable academic programs and services to our students”

The email ends with president Thomas promising continued budgetary restraint and thanking the Western Illinois community for its support.
