Students are receiving phone scam phone calls and emails about being a winner of a federal loyalty grant.
The WIU Office of Public Safety says the callers will phone from an unavailable location, and tell you that you have won a federal loyalty grant.
OPS asks that you not provide any personal information to anyone who is calling or e-mailing you with “too good to be true offers.”
If you were a victim to these scams, the WIU Office of Public Safety asks that you contact them at (309) 298-1949.
