Kids from the local community were “Going for Gold” on Saturday, October 22.
Western Illinois University’s University Dance Theatre program hosted its annual “kids clinic” accompanied by the theme of the Mini Olympics.
The dance clinic was offered for kids ranging from first grade all the way to seniors in high school.
The event is offered for children who attend school in Macomb, as well the surrounding communities. Parents, family, and friends watched their kids perform and it was an awesome interaction to have with students on campus.
University Dance Theatre (UDT) is also implementing a new program within their 50-person company this year called “Mini UDT.”
Mini UDT helps kids from the local community team up with dancers on campus to learn a choreographed dance and be mentored and learn about what it’s like to dance full-time and still be a college student.
University Dance Theatre will be having their annual dance concert for the Mini UDT performances on Saturday, December 9th at Hainline Theatre.
