Another Missing Letter From Western’s Entrance

westernWestern Illinois University is on the search again for another missing letter.

The “W” off the grand entrance sign on Lafayette and University Drive was stolen early Sunday morning. The “W” has still not been found. Facilities Managment is working on ordering a replacement, which costs the university between $700-750.

Back on August 9th, a tip to Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of three non-students when four letters were stolen off the same entrance sign.

Director of University Relations, Darcie Shinberger told NEWS3,Ā “We hope someone will come forward with information regarding the person or persons responsible for vandalizing the grand entrance sign. If you have any information about the missing ‘W’ please call OPS or Macomb Crime Stoppers.Ā Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information on this crime.”

The incident is still under investigation.
