The drought situation in Illinois has really improved since the last update back in mid July. Lots of rain has fallen across the region since that update and that has erased all of the D1 category and most of the D0 category across the state. Only 0.75% of the state is in a D0 and that is located in Western Illinois as of August 9 when the new drought monitor was released. This will be the final drought update as things have improved dramatically enough that the updates are no longer warranted.
