The Powerball is played in 44 states, including Illinois, but no tickets matched all 5 numbers and the Powerball in Wednesday night’s $348 million drawing.
This is the 18th time the current jackpot rolled over. Powerball jackpots start at $40 million, and continue amassing jackpot cash until a player correctly guesses 5 white balls from a pool of 1 through 69, and a Powerball from a pool of 1 through 15.
Two people correctly guessed all 5 white balls, but with a different Powerball. One of these tickets was purchased in Florida, the other in New York. The winnings for the correct 5 number combo is $1 million.
The next Powerball drawing is Saturday, with a current estimated jackpot of $415 million. That number is expected to rise with increased ticket sales.
