Motorists traveling in the Galesburg area should be alert to lane reductions along a westbound stretch of I-74.
IDOT will be reducing the expressway to one lane this week near Exit 51 in order to continue an ongoing bridge construction project. Crews will be removing the overhead bridge carrying traffic for County Road 9.
IDOT says closures shouldn’t last for more than a week, as the project should only take a few days.
