The music department at WIU is honoring a grad student who passed away April 16th in the best way they know how, a concert. 
Ryan McNeil, who defeated cancer twice but recently fell ill with graft versus host disease, was pursuing a master’s degree in music when he passed.
The celebration is Monday, May 9th and will be held in the Horrabin Theatre at 8 p.m.
The event will feature pieces written by McNeil.
