Missed Tornado Warning in Macomb was Due to Human Error

The McDonough County 911 Board says it was overwhelmed by emergency calls during March 15 tornado warning, causing no siren to go off in Macomb.

maxresdefaultThe committee on Tuesday said the dispatch center was responding to multiple emergency calls when a severe thunderstorm warning turned into a tornado in nearby Good Hope. The emergency siren was activated in Good Hope.

The board says they will review the policy to prevent another mistake from happening including activating emergency warnings for Comcast customers.
