The Fourth Annual Community Christmas Lighting Contest is going on in Macomb right now. The family of Marilyn Joyce Locke will be sponsoring this event. Residents of Macomb and the surrounding areas, of Meadowbrook, Georgetown, Scotland Glen and Melwood Estates are invited to join in this Christmas Lighting Contest. The deadline for registration is noon on Tuesday, December 22 and houses will be judged on the 22nd as well. The winners will be announced December 28th.
Prizes include: First place — $150 Chamber gift certificate, Second place — $100 Chamber gift certificate, Third place — $50 Chamber gift certificate. The Locke’s will also be choosing a winner and giving a $250 monetary prize.
There will also be a separate category for organizations, businesses and institutions. Winners in this category will receive a non-monetary award, acknowledging their achievement. Those entering the contest need to provide their name, address and a contact phone number.
