WIU Students Receive High Honor

Six WIU students have been named a college scholar.

This is the highest recognition for overall academic excellence.

Faculty in each of the 4 Academic Colleges select a graduating senior as each college’s outstanding student.

A news release says a Departmental Scholar is an outstanding degree candidate in an academic major.

An Honors Scholar is a student in the Centennial Honors College who has completed a set of honors requirements and has achieved a grade point average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.

The WIU Scholars are:

Centennial Honors College Scholar- Steven T. Olson

College of Arts and Sciences Scholar- MaryBeth Lillian Hornbaker

College of Business and Technology Scholar- Patricia Barrett

College of Education and Human Services Scholar- Kayleigh Nicole Marcotte

College of Fine Arts and Communication Scholar- Micah Russel Stewart

School of Distance Learning, International Studies and Outreach- Julie R. Allen

These students will be recognized on Friday, December 18th at 5:30pm in Western Hall.
