The budget impasse is affecting the future of the Center for Performing Arts. Dr. William Clow says, “The Governor put a halt to all construction projects on all the state institutions as of June 30, 2015. Once that stopped, then the entire project stopped and we are currently just sitting here.”
The project that is now on hold, without access to funds, has been on and off the table since 1974. Once the budget is passed, Dean William Clow believes it will take at least 6 months to get the project back up and running. Clow says every six months they wait for the budget to be passed, the project costs rise $1,000,000 due to the increasing price of building materials.
