Western Illinois University will now enforce a new policy to prohibit smoking on campus. This policy applies to all students, faculty, and people who are visiting the school. The use of smokeless tobacco is also prohibited.
WIU is in accordance to the Smoke-Free Campus Act, which prohibits smoking on campus on every state-sponsored colleges and universities within Illinois. This law went into effect on July 1, 2015.
Individuals who continue to violate the policy will be referred to existing campus disciplinary measures.
