After weeks of discussion, some elected officials in Macomb will be seeing a pay raise.
City Council members approved a raise for only two of three elected officials on Monday night.
Discussions centered around the positions of treasurer, mayor and city clerk.
Mayor Mike Inman was the tie–breaking vote in favor of an initial vote on the pay increases.
It was decided to vote on each raise individually, after 4th Ward Alderman Dave Dorsett requested the change. After a vote, the mayor and city clerk will each receive a 7.3 percent salary increase over four years, starting May 14th of next year.
.The city treasurer will not receive a pay increase.
