Proposed 2014 budget approved by WIU Board of Trustees

Sherman Hall in FallWestern Illinois University’s budget has been approved for 2014 after approval by the Board of Trustees during a meeting on Friday.

The school will see a budget increase of $15.5 million, taking the budget to $142.5 million. The current operating budget is $127 million.

A press release from WIU says the proposed budget includes an additional $6 million to support salary and cost increases, $2 million for deferred maintenance, $4.5 million for the operation of the Quad Cities Riverfront Campus, $1.5 million for student financial aid and $750,000 each for the healthcare program and the Bachelor of Science in Engineering program.
